About Us

Mother-and-daughter duo D and Ais Phelan from Lacken, Co Wicklow, launched DNA Design as a way to follow their lineage of knitting and sewing, preserving generations of creative skill and knowledge. D is a talented multi-disciplinary crafter who learnt to knit and sew from her Mam & was knitting before she could read! Ais, a visual artist working at the intersection of art and technology, shapes the brand’s identity, oversees social media & marketing, and finds new outlets for their pieces. Together, they co-design each collection, blending tradition and innovation in every piece.

Starting with a knitwear collection crafted from natural yarns, DNA Design debuted at Om Diva, Dublin’s Drury Street hub for emerging talent. They are currently working on their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, set to be showcased in Dublin Independent Fashion Week 2024 at the historic Smock Alley Theatre.
